01 / There is plenty competing for his time

There is plenty competing for his time.

Indi runs a steel company, owns a pub and has a growing family. His week has no shortage of things that need his attention.

He also trains with me twice a week at 7:30 am. That regular appointment is the part of his story I wanted to share.

Busy lives are different, and not everybody has the same freedom over their time. Indi’s routine is one example of making a place for training within the responsibilities he already has.

02 / Two sessions with a place in the week

Two sessions with a place in the week.

There is something useful about being specific. For Indi, training is two mornings with a time attached. It has a place alongside his work and family commitments.

When someone says they want to be more consistent, one of the things I want to understand is where the sessions could realistically sit. A plan has to meet the week you actually live.

Indi’s 7:30 am appointments show what that can look like. They are his routine, rather than a timetable everyone else needs to copy.

03 / Turning up is worth recognising

Turning up is worth recognising.

The reason I’m sharing Indi’s story is the regular work. It does not need an extreme transformation attached to it to matter.

Training has remained something he makes time for while there is plenty happening elsewhere. That is a part of progress worth recognising in its own right.

If your weeks are full, you may recognise the challenge of keeping something for yourself on the calendar. The useful question is what you could realistically protect, and what support would help you do that.

04 / Meet the person behind the routine

Meet the person behind the routine.

The video gives you a chance to hear from Indi himself. This profile introduces the part of his story I wanted to highlight: a busy person with a regular commitment to his training.

In the Spotlight series, Indi also passed a question to Mick about his favourite gym exercise. You can follow that conversation in Mick’s story.

There are different goals and personalities across this community. Indi’s example is a reminder that an ordinary training appointment can be an important part of a very full week.
